About Artepedia

The heart of Artepedia is an art encyclopedia created using a collective of volunteer authors.

The name "Artepedia" is composed of "Arte" (the Italian word for art), and "pedia" (from the English word "encyclopedia," which is a book or set of books covering all aspects of a topic).

But Artepedia's heart is surrounded by many other features for those who love art and want to see, visit, create, buy, and sell art. Artepedia will gather information about upcoming exhibitions and lectures, new artists joining galleries, art courses available at schools, where to buy art supplies - and much much more.

Through BLOGS, Artepedia will be a place for living artists, art galleries, art museums, art students, art schools, and art tourists to meet and learn - exchange and grow.

Through CALENDARS and LISTS, Artepedia will tell where and when important events in the art world will take place and where to find important art resources.

Artepedia basic content is free. It is not only available free on the Internet, but anyone may freely copy and use its content as long as any user cites the source of the material, because the authors have licensed (Creative Commons License and GNU License) their contributions to the public for reuse.
